For my internship, I had the opportunity to assist the lead visual merchandiser in the store Express. This store was located in downtown Chicago at the water tower place. With this position it consisted of me helping and orchestrating the process of using a plano-gram to put out the layout of the store. Since this was a job that couldn't be done will customers were around, I would be working after the store closed or early in the morning before everyone started.

every couple of week the visual merchandiser was giving an updated plano-gram that would consist of photos of how the store should be laid out. It was up to use to figure out which article of clothing to show withing the folded and hanged clothing section. Other than that we had to abide by what the picture showed.

** Since I cannot show an exact picture of the plano-gram, because of policy, I gave an example of what it  would look like.

When I wasn't working on the store layout I was working on the window designs for the store. Since this store/brand is very known and slightly conservative; we had to strictly abide by the layout of how they wanted the windows to look. This was the only part of the internship I did not like because it wasn't really letting be creative as I wanted. Though I did get to style some of the mannequins in the window and in the store.

Other than doing those to things throughout the day and week I would help out in the store with sales to help be get experience with working in retail. which was vital, because I would need it in the long run.
