This is a mock fashion styling project that includes an independent business plan for my own company as a personal stylist. This project includes a mock editorial photo-shoot for GQ magazine with a known model. For this editorial shoot, I will include the theme, location and four cohesive outfits.

Mission Statement

Dejah styles for the modern young man who is in the workplace but still wants to stand out with his love of street wear. This young man is not afraid of color and different silhouettes to help him standout but still look the part. Dejah wants her clients to feel their best but still be comfortable. She will style her clients in current trends but also some classic pieces to give a unique high-low effect. In the end, Dejah will not only make her clients feel confident and comfortable but also unique and unforgettable.

About Me

My name is Dejah Mansfield and I am a student at Dominican University. I am majoring in fashion design and minoring in fashion merchandising. When I graduate from college I will be pursing a career in the fashion industry. With my background in fashion I will want to personally style young men since I specialize in menswear. So not only am I wanting to purse a career in styling but I will also have information on how these clothing item are made and possibly customize clothing for some individuals as well.

Market Analysis

Dejah's target market focuses on young men off all sizes, who are in the age range of 20-30. They are located in the New York City area, with the focused areas of Upper West Side and Manhattan.

Personal Stylist Services, Rates, and Fees

Service 1: Closet Look over & Maintenance

This includes a full wardrobe assessment and cleanse. Suggestions will be made on which clothes should stay in the wardrobe or should be donated, thrown away or sold.
$70/hour

Service 2: Wardrobe Assistance

Create 15 outfits from client's closet and shopping. Also gathering unique pieces to add to the clients wardrobe.
$85/hour

Service 3: Personal Shopping

In store shopping: gathering any type of clothing the client needs. Adding those pieces to wardrobe or outfit changes.
$150/hour

Clients will pay deposit fee of the service once the service is scheduled, and then they will pay the remaining amount after the service is completed with satisfaction.

GQ is an international monthly men's magazine based in New York City and founded in 1931. The publication focuses on fashion, style, and culture for men, though articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, travel, sports, technology, and books are also featured.

The street wear and work wear in New York City, is the perfect background environment for this photo-shoot because it gives off that grungy street wear vibe as well as a sophisticated look. It's known for being big on fashion, so why not have a fashion icon city background with outfits that reflect the city as such. The article will showcase fashion inspiration from the the city and its people in it, as well as showcasing the prominent neighborhoods within New York.
